The BCPSOPE Executive Board participated in discussions with Staff Relations, Business Services and HR to better define the designation of employees for Emergency Closing situations. Some employees have been designated as “Essential” meaning that they must report to work when schools and/or offices are closed for weather. Some employees have been designated as “Essential as needed” meaning the employee must be told to report by a Supervisor or higher authority. Employees will have been notified in writing as to their status. If you did not receive a letter then your position was not deemed essential or essential as needed. BCPSOPE negotiation committee continues to negotiate with the BOE for changes to the Master Agreement. Negotiations will continue into January of 2015.
